Who we are. Ebbl is a period and cycle tracker built by FAULK — designed around ADHD and perimenopause rather than treating them as edge cases. It's a small independent studio, not a big company. Here's exactly what happens with your data.

What we collect

Your email address (or Google account), just to sign you in — that's it for login.

At onboarding: what you tell us about your cycle and health — last period date, typical period/cycle length, and your PMDD, perimenopause, and contraception/HRT answers. This saves to our database (Firestore) so it's there when you log back in.

Everything else — your day-to-day period dates, daily check-ins, symptom levels, notes, sex logging, substances/meds — also saves to your account in Firestore, the same way your onboarding answers do. That's what lets you log in on your phone, your laptop, or someone else's device and see your real history there, not just the login. A local copy is kept in your browser too, mainly so the app stays fast and works if you're briefly offline.

How it's stored

Your account, onboarding profile, and day-to-day cycle data all run on Google Firebase — an established, reputable service we didn't build ourselves. The app is hosted on Netlify. Your browser also keeps a local copy for speed and offline use, but Firebase is where your real data lives and what makes it follow you between devices.

Who can see your data

Nobody but you. Your onboarding profile is locked to your own signed-in account — no one else's login can read it, including us, unless you email us for help and choose to share something directly. There's no public profile, no leaderboard, and no way for anyone else to log in and see your data.

The one optional exception: Settings has a "Share with a partner" toggle you can turn on yourself. It publishes a private link showing a general snapshot — your cycle day, current phase, an estimated next period, and a general sense of how today's going — never your check-in details, notes, or PMDD/perimenopause/contraception answers. Whoever has the link doesn't need an Ebbl account to view it. It's off by default, and you can turn it off or replace the link at any time from the same screen.

No ads, nothing sold — and what analytics we do use

Ebbl doesn't run ads and doesn't sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers. We do use Google Analytics, to see basic things like how many people visit and which pages get used, so we know what's actually worth improving. Google Analytics can see that a page was visited (device/browser type, roughly where in the world from, how long someone stayed) — it has no access to anything you log in the app. Your cycle dates, symptom levels, notes, and answers about PMDD, perimenopause, or contraception/HRT are never sent to Google Analytics or anywhere else outside Firebase; the app's check-in and pattern screens don't send Google Analytics anything about what you actually recorded there, only that the screen was opened.

Deleting your data

Want your account and everything tied to it gone? Email faulk.admin@gmail.com and we'll delete it — that covers what's saved to your account as well as anything cached locally on a device you tell us about. Clearing your browser data will remove the local copy on that one device, but won't touch what's saved to your account.

A note on how sensitive this data is

We know cycle, symptom, and sexual-health data is genuinely sensitive — that's a big part of why Ebbl exists in the first place. We're not a hospital or a covered healthcare provider, so this isn't medical-grade data protection with a compliance certificate behind it — it's one person building this carefully, on well-established infrastructure, with nothing sold and nothing shared. If that's not enough assurance for what you want to log, that's a completely fair thing to decide for yourself.

Cookies

Firebase sets a small cookie to keep you signed in. Google Analytics sets its own cookies too, used only to work out roughly how many separate people are using Ebbl and how — not to build an ad profile or follow you around other sites.

Changes to this policy

If anything here changes, we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
